[She rubs her hands up and down her arms to warm up as she follows after him. Normally she'd look around curiously as she hasn't been in the Spa since it was rebuilt after the Fire. Right now, she just keeps her eyes on Cloud until they reach the kitchen.]
Milk's is okay.
[She isn't sure he should be attempting tea when he's smaller. She manages to tug a chair out and climbs onto it, still watching him. If she was tall enough to reach anything she'd help get stuff, but she's not.]
[Actually, he can manage things like the stove pretty well, thanks to Gai bringing him a stool. But if she doesn't want tea... he grabs two glasses from the counter, where a variety of things have been left in deference to his height, and manages to pour her a glass of milk and himself a glass of orange juice without spilling anything.
Carefully sliding the glasses onto the table, he climbs on a chair across from her and claims his glass.]
You okay? [Wait, no, that was stupid. He looks down at his glass.] ...I mean... do you want to talk about it?
[She picks up the glass of milk in both hands, mumbling thanks before taking a gulp. She stares into the glass for a moment without really looking at it before she answers his question.]
I dunno. I mean--I dunno what to say. She's gone. [Her voice cracks a little.] And we don't know if she's home safe or somewhere--in some place that there's nothing. Or worse, even.
...we can't know any of that for sure. [She's been in Edensphere so long. Lost so many people... of course, that was true of just about everyone he spoke to who was 'older' than he was. But he still tended to think of her as a child, and it was somehow more painful that a child had to go through this kind of thing.
The fact that she was currently even smaller than usual didn't help.]
I'm not sure if I can be any help. But... it's probably better to assume she's gone home. [And maybe that was some kind of self-delusion. But it was better than worrying yourself sick over something you couldn't possibly change.]
